Focus of Support
The Keokuk Area Community Foundation Charitable Interests lie in the fields of Arts and Culture, Community Betterment, Education, Health, and Human Services. KACF’s primary focus for support encompasses the following counties: Hancock County Illinois, Clark County Missouri, and Lee County Iowa. Support is also given to the following areas: Western Illinois, Northeast Missouri and Southeast Iowa. Grants will be made only to non-profit organizations, which have been determined by the Internal Revenue Service to be exempt under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Activities That Are Given Priority Funding By KACF
Seed Grants to initiate promising new projects and programs so that those projects and programs are able to demonstrate their usefulness to the community.
Projects that support new and creative proposals and people offering the greatest opportunity for positive and significant change.
Projects in arts and culture, community betterment, education, health, and human services that serve a broad sector of Southeast Iowa, Western Illinois, or Northeast Missouri which are innovative, and are responsive to changing community needs.
Projects that will enable non-profit and charitable agencies to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and move toward self-sufficiency.
Projects that address and help resolve important existing or emerging community issues.
Projects that facilitate cooperation and collaboration among organizations and communities in our area.
Projects that identify, enhance, and expand leadership in the community through the support of charitable activities that empower individuals.
Capital expenditures, such as construction, remodeling additions to existing buildings, and equipment purchases.
Projects for which other grants have been approved but require matching funds for completion.
Projects that improve the quality or scope of charitable works in the Tri-State Area.
