The Delbert and Edythe Barnes Scholarship Fund was established for students who have graduated or will be graduating (those attending their senior year of high school) from any Lee County, Hancock County or Clark County School District. General Education Diploma (GED) are also eligible to apply for The Delbert and Edythe Barnes Memorial Scholarship.
Successful applicants will have attained at least a 2.0 (C) grade point average at their High School; be a High School graduate or have received a GED; have financial need and a strong desire to embark upon a career in the Construction and Building Trades industry.
Scholarship recipients must attend or be enrolled at Southeastern Community College with the intention of matriculating and receiving a degree as noted in the current edition of the College Handbook in the area of the Construction & Manufacturing. Degree programs in the field of Construction & Manufacturing at Southeastern Community College can be found here.
Each year, four renewable scholarships will be awarded. Each annual scholarship will be up to $500.00. Scholarship awards will be sent to Southeastern Community College in the name of the recipient.
Deadline for applications is April 3rd (each year) with recipients selected and announced by May 15th (each year). This is a renewable scholarship for a second year (provided the student has maintained a 2.5 (C) grade point average) in their first year at Southeastern Community College. Please be careful to ascertain that you meet the eligibility requirements and include all required information with your application.
